Review

Graham Harrop’s art illustrates that the single-panel presentation of
political satire is no longer the rigid rule in Canadian political
cartoon commentary. In the strip format, the cartoonist is able to
utilize the continuing-story technique in order to fully explore issues.
Harrop does this to great effect in his exposés of the inner
“realities” of the post office, the Canadian Senate, and the
political machinations that lay behind the events of Meech Lake.

This collection of cartoon strips, reprinted from The Globe and Mail,
is a must-read for its humorous, cynical take on Canadian politics.
