Review

This book gives rise to nearly as many questions as it answers. Aimed at
individuals who are considering venturing into the business world, the
book is cursory in its treatment of topics and poorly organized. Both
problems make it difficult for readers to evaluate the advantages and
disadvantages of franchises in a more meaningful manner. At times, it is
hard to tell if the book’s targeted audience is the franchisor or the
franchisee, since it provides information on international franchise
associations, as well as on the services that will be required for
international expansion. How does this concern the novice franchisee?

Worksheets are included but would have been more effective had they
been interspersed throughout the text, to be completed as the reader
progressed through the material. Given that there are some 20 blank
pages scattered through the book, this should have been possible.
