Review

This is a straightforward and useful annual guide to Canada’s
Parliament and its members. Included are brief essays on the
parliamentary process, the governor general, the senate, and the House
of Commons. The governor general’s biography is a classic of silly
puffery, but each senator’s and member of parliament’s biographical
information is arranged in alphabetical order. Also included is the
result of the 1988 federal election in each constituency. Essential
data, clearly offered. It scarcely needs to be said that this edition,
up-to-date in February 1993, is now, after the most recent general
election, as dead as the dodo and the Progressive Conservative and New
Democratic parties.
