Review

In this well-written and easy-to-follow book, Lois Hole has synthesized
more than 20 years of experience as a vegetable gardener in St. Albert,
Alberta. She encourages readers to experiment in both the planting and
the preparation of vegetables. For example, the entry for cauliflower
suggests planting three varieties early, mid-season, and late to extend
the harvest. Arranged alphabetically by plant or crop, this practical
and informative guide will serve as a valuable addition to any
gardener’s library.
