Review

Trail of the Wolf follows a well-worn path. A capsule history of the
animal, starting in ancient times, is followed by sections on packs and
their behavior, the hunt, family life, interactions with humans, future
prospects, and so on. This history is interwoven with accounts of the
author’s experiences with wolves. A useful and up-to-date bibliography
rounds out the book. Accompanying the text are excellent glossy photos,
many by well-known photographers.
