Review

Despite the increase in bilingual publications in recent years,
anthologies of Canadian short stories in both official languages are
still extremely rare. The prominent English- and French-speaking
contributors represented in this experimental, eclectic, and delightful
collection serve not only as authors but as translators as well. The
book gives the unilingual public a unique opportunity to view literature
in the other language, and bilingual readers a new perspective on their
own languages. All in all, Voix parallиles/Parallel Voices is an
eloquent (nonpolitical) statement about Canada and its literature.
