Review

This exciting and gripping novel, set in Toronto and Manitoulin Island,
concerns two very different women: high-powered Toronto lawyer Harriet
Fordham Croft and her lover, Leslie. One of them is being stalked by a
murderer, but why and by whom? Is it Harriet’s ex-husband, whose pride
won’t tolerate the relationship between the two women? Is it a hotshot
developer whose plans are being thwarted? Or is it someone else?

While the relationship between the two women is tastefully described,
it may discomfort some readers. This would be a pity because Legal
Tender—Foster’s second novel to feature Harriet Fordham Croft—is
well written and compelling crime fiction.
