Review

This is a useful (albeit overpriced) guidebook to tours of Ontario
wineries. Each winery is presented on a two-page spread; included are
the company name, address, directions on how to get to it, tour hours,
and boutique hours. The book opens with general material on wines, wine
making, and how to evaluate wines (as contributed by Intervin’s Andrew
Sharp), and concludes with accommodation, dining-out, and tourist
information. The only material here not found at government-tourism or
Wine Council of Ontario offices are the color photographs (mainly by
Linda Bramble) and the full-color reproductions of wine labels. If
you’re looking for more than a beautifully illustrated guidebook, for
a few dollars more you can buy Tony Aspler’s Vintage Canada.
