Review

This superior self-help book provides directions as to how to look after
oneself and one’s baby from conception to three years. Sections on
pregnancy and birth, baby care, and health care contain useful,
easy-to-understand, reasoned advice on many of the topics that concern
new and prospective parents. The beautiful illustrations, though
explicit, are tastefully done and present childbirth and early
child-rearing in a very positive light, as does the text, which resists
the temptation to overplay the possibility of complications for mother
and/or child. This book is a must for parents and health professionals.
