Review

Buffs are insatiable in their desire for books and articles on their
specialties, and sternwheeler buffs presumably are no different. This
little book, an affectionate look at Canada’s oldest surviving
sternwheeler, was produced by the Kootenay Lake Historical Society as a
tribute to the Moyie, which entered Canadian Pacific Railway lake
service in 1898 and retired in 1957, after which it was restored as a
historic artifact at Kaslo, B.C. The book is a handsome production,
splendidly illustrated with photographs and charts, and while buffs will
be sure to quarrel with something in these pages, all will be pleased
that the Moyie has its history.
