Review

There is a lot of bang for the buck in this book: 212 documents in 700
pages with small margins and gutters, thin leaves, and tiny print.
Unfortunately, the binding is so poor in quality that it will probably
crack within a week. The documents are mostly federal acts of
Parliament, agreements, court cases, and treaties; there are few
regulations and hardly any nongovernmental materials. The documents all
relate to Canada’s economic, social, cultural, and political
development from 1867 to 1991, and are arranged in chronological order.
Each document has a short introductory note, and there is a useful
cross-referenced index. An excellent resource tool.
