Review

This useful little paperback is instructive reading for anyone who has
ever been caught unprepared in a bad winter storm. As the author
stresses, most of us are woefully ignorant about what to do in such
circumstances.

In short, pithy chapters, Weiss explains how to minimize the risks of
winter exposure. He begins by discussing clothing systems and materials,
demonstrates how to dress for warmth, and concludes with several
chapters on winter-survival techniques that can be used in emergency
situations. Given our long and often harsh winters, this would be a
handy book for all Canadians to keep in their cars and cottages.
