Review

This collection of columns by Susan Mackie Smith, a columnist for the
Lanark Era in Eastern Ontario, provides the reader with wry, humorous,
and poignant essays about such topics as raising a family in the 1990s,
visiting the county fair, and paying tribute to veterans of the world
wars. Smith is a talented writer; her warm, funny re-creations of family
situations and everyday incidents reminded me of the late Gary
Lautens’s wonderful columns in The Toronto Star. Don’t Get Me
Started! is equally entertaining and is recommended for Canadiana
collections.
