Review

Saskatchewan—one immediately thinks of the flatness of the prairies.
Yet rolling hills, dunes, lakes, rapids, dramatic rock formations, and
vast northern forests are found in this province.

Saskatchewan-born and -raised Menno Fieguth has pursued a number of
careers—psychiatric nurse, occupational therapist, photography
teacher, and musician—and has authored two books on Saskatchewan. As a
young boy, he saw and appreciated the beauty in the environment around
him. This book is a “celebration of the ever-changing moods of a
province and its people,” history, landscapes, culture, festivals,
seasons, and leisure activities.

A short description accompanies each of the book’s 102 color
photographs. Fieguth’s photographs have been widely published in
books, magazines, and directories. Two particularly skilful photographs
included here are “Morning dew on spiderweb” and “Sunrise and
frost inside window at 40 degrees, Uranium City.”

Although it lacks a much-needed map, this beautiful book will make
either a welcome addition to any library or a lovely coffee-table book.
