Review

For those travel misers among us who like to partake in fun activities
for free, this book is meant for you! Covering all of British Columbia,
the presentation begins with Greater Vancouver and then, like spokes in
a wheel, moves outward to include popular adjacent areas that you might
arrive at by car (e.g., short trips from Vancouver, Victoria and area,
Vancouver Island).

The table of contents and index are both invaluable, while tips in the
introduction give guidance on how best to use the book so as to have the
most fun with the least frustration. All kinds of attractions are
covered, from nature and museums to culture and just plain fun
(festivals, contests, celebrations). The write-ups are humorous,
instructive, and comprehensive. The typography, maps, and design are
upbeat and simple in a way that belies a lot of planning. This is a
must-have for all cost-conscious consumers.
