Review

There have been so many stories about the Holocaust that one wonders how
a new and different angle could be found. Yet in Dreams to Keep, Berger
has found one, and in doing so has crafted a book that is hard to put
down.

Tania Mickiewicz is a frightened, sensitive, poetry-writing
seven-year-old living in the Warsaw Ghetto. The nights of terror and the
loss of her family have had a terrible effect on her. Yet hidden inside
is a person with a deep desire to survive and a strong appetite for
revenge. As she grows older she begins to lust for success in a world
that took everything from her. Her journey to success and the many plot
twists surrounding that journey is what makes this book an enthralling
story.
