Review

Those who like the work of award-winning poet bissett—there is no
accounting for taste, or the lack of it—will probably like hard 2
beleev well enough. Those who consider his poetry thin, and his labored,
phonetic spelling little more than a tedious mannerist gimmick, are
unlikely to have their opinion changed by this collection. bissett talks
a lot; the problem is, he never says very much. We learn from hard 2
beleev that he doesn’t like governments a lot (who does?). We learn
that his personal relationships are frequently unsatisfying (whose
aren’t?). We learn that he is in favor of protecting the environment.
(The prosecution rests.)

As this collection makes deplorably plain, that bissett is sometimes
little more than a politically correct bore, iz not hard 2 beleev uh
tall.
