Review

This trade-paperback release is an automatic winner, despite being
overpriced. (Surely a less expensive, mass-market paperback costing
somewhere around the $7 level could have been published.) The current
book covers the 1989 to 1991 seasons on CBC radio. It offers the same
mix as before: an anthology of letters, stories and poems, along with
some transcribed conversations. It concentrates on the everyday stuff
plus the issues of the day, ranging from the Montreal massacre in
December 1989 through the Gulf War (January to March 1991). This is
excellent reading for those who don’t get to hear most of Gzowski’s
show in the morning or even the evening repeat.
