Review

This book is by an experienced outdoor-environment educator. It was
written so that teachers can have a single source where they can find
both background information on environmental issues and more than one
hundred activities that can involve their students. The book’s first
of seven units deals with environmental awareness, offering an
introduction to environmental concerns. The following six units describe
the key issues of waste, habitats and wildlife, acid rain, air, water,
and energy. The copious background information is closely linked with
the activities suggested. Sample activity topics with sample corrective
skills for them could concern, it is pointed out, science, language
arts, creative thinking, consumer education, art and music, social
studies, history, and mathematics.
