Review

This book, which features facts and trivia from nature, is meant for
children in the junior and intermediate grades. But it contains a wealth
of information that kept this reviewer turning page after page. The
information is presented in a clear and non-threatening manner that will
make this book attractive to children with a range of reading abilities.
Each page stands alone, presenting concise information in large, easily
read print. Attractive line drawings illustrate each page. The author
has organized the information on each page and in each section to make
the retrieval of information relatively simple. There is a clear focus
on comprehension—to the extent of including questions or
fill-in-the-blank challenges on most pages. An appendix provides
pre-planned comprehension tests. Although Senoff includes numerous
Biblical references, the focus of the book is not lost and the book
avoids becoming a mere collection of unrelated facts.
