Review

This Canadian Hypertensive Society official handbook (which replaces an
earlier obsolete edition) is an easy-to-read reference for those
concerned about high blood pressure. Written primarily by health
professionals (including physicians, nurses, and dieticians) for a
general audience, the text is precise and easy-to-read, and the index
useful. In addition, numerous, intelligently planned tables, graphs, and
illustrations accompany the text. A special feature is that the clear
type and printing quality make it accessible to those afflicted with
long-standing hypertension who may be less visually acute.

Designed both for the reader who wishes to have significant overall
knowledge of the subject and for the patient in search of information,
this book is well perceived, well created, and admirably presented.
