Review

Paul St. Pierre is a well-known author, newspaper columnist, and former
member of Parliament whose career began at the Columbian newspaper in
New Westminster, British Columbia, in the 1940s. In 2000, he won the
B.C. Gas Lifetime Achievement Award for his extensive body of writing.

In Old Enough to Know Better, St. Pierre takes the view that a person
over the age of 70 is vastly smarter than those who are not. In fact, he
argues that one cannot hope to get things right before 70. In a text
directed at his future descendants, St. Pierre discusses various issues
close to his heart, from sex and politics to organized religion, love,
and war. His style combines the well-phased ramblings and edgy tone for
which we love St. Pierre with an insightful dialogue sure to stimulate
even those who do not agree with his politics.
